London and Paris. Two Iconic Capital Cities. Two examples of distinctly different European cultures. Whether you wish to say ‘hello’ or ‘Bonjour’ on your arrival, or be greeted by the sight of the Thames or the Seine, we are proud to be able to offer you tailored tours to both of these fantastic cities. Or, why not roll these two locations into one unforgettable tour? British Author, G.K. Chesterton, once said that ‘London is a riddle. Paris is an explanation’, so, start off in London and take the Eurostar to Paris to finish your trip and work out that riddle! Your students will gain invaluable experience in their fields, as well as learning a great deal about other countries.
‘When a man is tired of London, he is tired of life; for there is in London all that life can afford’. Samuel Johnson’s words, spoken in the 1700s, still ring true today. Contemporary London has something to offer everybody, around every corner. London brims with an impressive architectural line-up. Buildings like the Houses of Parliament, the Victoria and Albert Museum, Buckingham Palace, the Ritz, and St Paul’s Cathedral juxtapose beautifully next to the contemporary skyline of Canary Wharf, the Gherkin, the Shard, and many others.
Our faculty-led educational tours of London are specially tailored to you and your students’ needs and aims for the trip. Theatre students can benefit from a fantastic trip taking in the history and atmosphere of the West End, whilst Literature students can visit the Globe Theatre for a performance of a Shakespeare play, or take inspiration from the fact that they are standing on the soil where famous writers like Christina Rossetti, Robert Browning, Beatrix Potter, and A.A. Milne were born. We can also offer short summer programs of up to 8 weeks to Government and Politics students, or Law students, which takes in the Houses of Parliament and the Tower of London, a visit to the Law Commission, lectures on Security and terrorism, and a walking tour of Criminal London.
Like London, Paris is a city of beauty, history and inspiration. A visit here will allow Architecture students to take in famous sights including the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Sacré-Coeur Basilica, and the Pantheon.
Philosopher Nietzsche, remarked that ‘an Artist has no home in Europe except in Paris’, and this tradition of art, fashion, and innovation continues to dominate the city’s culture. The abundance of museums, such as Le Louvre, and Musée Picasso means that Art Historians are spoilt for choice in Paris, and if you wish to combine a visit to both Paris and London, then they will also be able to visit the Tate, National Gallery, and the Saatchi Gallery- an art lover’s dream tour! This is an excellent tour for your Business and Finance students as it allows them to compare and contrast business practices in the UK and Europe, looking at the economy and visiting marketing companies.
Whatever your students’ are studying, a visit to one of these cities (or both!) will help to support their studies, enrich their learning, and give them, and you, an experience to remember.
